Java consulting and development for demanding backends
We help teams design, build, tune and modernize Java systems, with a focus on performance, messaging and reliability.
What we do
- Development: Spring Boot services, APIs and data layers, delivered by a dedicated team or as a fixed-scope project.
- Performance: low-latency and high-throughput Java: concurrency, memory, GC and the network path.
- Messaging: event-driven systems on Kafka, Netty, ZeroMQ and Vert.x.
- Transformation: upgrades, monolith-to-modular migration and incremental rewrites.
- Fintech: trading platform components, market data and aggregation.
Where our experience comes from
Our engineers have worked on trading, brokerage and fintech platforms, where correctness and latency are not negotiable. We also build and run our own Java systems: Finopts, a modular framework for high-frequency trading and market data, and ClickOptions.ai, a crypto options trading platform built on it.
That is a multi-module Java 21 and Spring Boot codebase with exchange adapters, an aggregator, a tick store, Kafka-based event distribution and several transport layers, which is the kind of system most of our clients are trying to build or fix.
How you can work with us
- Dedicated team inside your process.
- Fixed-scope project with milestones and handover.
- Consulting: architecture review, performance audit, due diligence.

Frequently asked questions
What does a Java consulting engagement look like?
Typically a short review of the code, the runtime behaviour and the architecture, followed by a written list of findings ranked by impact, and optionally hands-on help to fix them. See also Spring Boot development.
Do you do development as well as consulting?
Yes. Many clients start with a review and continue with a dedicated team or a fixed-scope build.
Which industries do you serve?
Trading and fintech are our background, but the work (performance, messaging, modernization) applies to any backend with real load or a long-lived codebase.
Can you work on our existing system?
Yes. Most work is on existing systems: extending, tuning, upgrading or splitting them. See Java modernization.
Where are you based?
SIA Dreambox is a Latvian (EU) company. Our working day overlaps with Western and Northern Europe and the UK.
